WHO ARE GET SET YETI?

Get Set Yeti are an educational program and resource creator who work in a wide range of services, educational settings and organisations. We use storytelling and character based learning to create impact and engagement, specialising in translating learning and knowledge to end users.

Our programmes and resources are housed on our digital learning platform and are complimented by a range of practical resources, training, evaluation and quality assurance to ensure consistent and long lasting impact.

As each partner has their own unique set of aims, objectives and needs to be met, we use 'Creative Process Design' to make sure both they and their end users are consistently at the heart of what we produce.

Our team of seasoned educators, authors, artists, musicians, web designers and sector consultants make sure each project is special, and impactful for it’s scope of users and always far exceeds their expectations.

GET SET YETI AND THE PROMISE

Get Set Yeti are working in partnership with Carolina House Trust Foster Care to develop practical tools to ensure impact in their commitment to fulfil THE PROMISE. This is being achieved by providing digital and hands-on resources to further GROWTH MINDSET development for their young people, foster carers and staff; embedding resilience and increasing confidence in their daily lives.

In attending The Promise conference 'Stories of Change' we were made aware of the scale of work necessary to meet Government commitment, and just how much we had to offer in partnership, to support the sectors and organisations striving to achieve this.

DAWN ARCHIBALD  -  EDUCATIONAL ADVISOR GET SET YETI

Dawn was promoted to managerial position in 4th year of teaching and has taught every stage from 3 year olds to 12 year olds. As a Staff Tutor, she had responsibility for Literacy, Social Subjects and Leadership, and within this time she created 'Keys to Literacy' which was adopted across all schools to promote engagement in reading and literature circles.

In her role as Quality Improvement Officer with Angus Council, she further developed of knowledge of the secondary sector, and worked as part of the team who created the Council’s updated Child Protection Guidelines.

As Service Manager for Early Years, working as part of the Children & Families Leadership team, she was answerable to the Chief Social Work Officer and her role, whilst primarily planning for the expansion of 1140 hours of early learning and childcare, also included the further development of family learning and parenting. This responsibility for ELCC allowed her to work closely with private nurseries, voluntary playgroups, Council run settings and childminders. Ensuring high quality provision also meant working very closely with SSSC and the Care Inspectorate. As Service Manager, she was Council Lead for Scotland’s Early Years Collaborative, later CYPIC and worked across sectors with colleagues from NHS Tayside, Police, Social Work and more.

During her period working at Angus Council Headquarters, she completed my Masters in Educational Leadership which included Coaching & Mentoring then finally went back to doing what she loved best ...  working with children as Head Teacher at Tayview Primary.

Dawn has given her experience and expertise to Get Set Yeti since her early retirement and is a much valued part of the team.
