Get Set School is an invitation to parents and carers to join us for a series of weekly workshops on Early Literacy, Early Numeracy and Growth Mindset.
The aim of these six, hour long sessions is to highlight the little things that can be done at home that have a huge impact on building strong foundations for your child's learning at school.
We believe the things done at home by parents and carers have a powerful impact on their children's educational development and we would encourage you to come along to as many sessions as you can.
EACH TOPIC STARTS WITH A STORY
Each fun, hands-on workshop revolves around numeracy and literacy topics; where you'll be given practical advice, create and try out resources and have the opportunity to get to know your fellow P1 parents and carers.
Each topic is complimented by a story and a take away pack of books and resources each week. These resources are further enhanced by our digital learning portal where you can find additional podcasts, stories, songs and printable resources.

We want to encourage your child to develop a Growth Mindset right from the start of their school journey to help them to develop into a confident, resilient learner.
Our main focus through this program is to teach your child to keep trying and not be put off by mistakes - praising them for effort and determination rather than natural ability. We aim to change their thinking from, "I can't do it." to "I can't do it YET, but I will if I keep on trying!"
The ‘Growth Mindset Yeti’ program is delivered through problem solving activities set around a pair of plush yetis who appear in the classroom. The children learn by working to become yeti keepers, guided by letters left by the yetis.
There will be a Growth Mindset component each week in ‘Get Set School’ to familiarise you with the concept, and give you strategies to encourage the same way of thinking at home.
