Imposter Syndrome …Tackle the Beastie

Imposter Syndrome: the phenomena of struggling to internalise your success and doubting your abilities.

Imposter Syndrome often rears its head at the times when you should be feeling good about what you’ve accomplished rather than feeling like a fraud or holding your breath waiting for someone to notice you’re out of your depth.

Working on a Growth Mindset goes a long way to building your self-confidence and resilience, but it’s not the whole picture. It’s great to be able to learn from mistakes, persevere or change direction when needed, but how do you treat yourself when things don’t go the way you planned?

Kindness is key … showing self-compassion and being understanding towards yourself when things don’t turn out as you hoped makes a huge dent in any Imposter syndrome that might occur later.  Taking the time to be inwardly warm and understanding when things go wrong lessens feelings of anxiety and makes you provenly more stable and positive emotionally.

Walk alongside yourself with the same warmth and caring you would give a friend… it’s a game changer!
