WHAT IS GROWTH MINDSET

A Growth Mindset is the belief that our brains can grow stronger when we practise, try new things and learn from mistakes. It’s the idea that we’re not 'stuck' with the abilities we have right now - we can always get better with effort, good strategies and support from others.
For children, it means shifting from “I can’t do this” to “I can’t do this yet.”

HOW DOES THIS HELP CHILDREN LEARN?

A Growth Mindset helps children:

  •  Feel braver about trying new or tricky tasks
  • Bounce back when something feels hard
  • See mistakes as part of learning, not something to fear
  • Keep going even when they feel stuck
  • Build confidence in their ability to improve
  • Enjoy learning, not just getting things right

When children believe they can grow, they’re more willing to explore, practise and keep climbing - just like our little yetis!
