PRINT YOURSELF A YET-I-VATOR FROM THE RESOURCE BANK BELOW
You may wish to print on card and laminate for durability.
• Model the concept by giving an example of something you're learning (or would like to) that you can’t do YET.
• Bring out THE YET-I-VATOR and zap yourself changing your, ‘I CAN’T DO IT’ to an ‘I CAN’T DO IT YET’ statement (ray gun sound effects optional!)
• Take turns thinking of things you'd like to do, that you can't do YET, and zap your sentences.
• Keep a YET-I-VATOR handy to help trigger Growth Mindset thinking when needed.
"I can't tie my shoelaces." becomes "I can't tie my shoelaces YET, but I will if I keep trying."
